Tuesday
The message I recieved this morning from Aunt Melinda is that both the neurologist and nephrologist seem to think she will regain everything. It will take several months though. They hope the brain will absorb the blood in the next two weeks. She will have dialysis two more times then make a decision whether she can go to rehab or go to another floor. Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy are working with her daily. The biopsy showed interstitial nephritis induced by ibuprofen.

So glad to hear about a good prognosis. Meeting about the fundraiser was well attended - about 20 people. Tickets and information going out soon.
ReplyDeleteYes, we are so glad to hear the good news. The VV family is pulling for you, and the benefit is set up for June 27 at the VV high school cafe from 11AM-3PM. Tickets are $8/plate (chicken, brisket, potatoes, beans, bread) and can be obtained from Meredith Keelen or the high school office between now and next Wednesday. We will also be having a cake auction at 12:30 on the 27th. I am off to Daytona to grade AP Lang exams (and retrieve some of the beach to bring back for Mary), but others will be keeping me posted. Tell Mary to hang in there and to be tough!
ReplyDeleteI have tickets to give Yvonne, plus I have sold several this afternoon already. We are also taking donations. Prosperity Bank in Bay City is handling our account, or you can make it out to "Leopards for Mary Ottis Benefit" and mail it to Box 906, Van Vleck 77482 OR to the school at 302 S. 4th, VV 77482.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad Mary is pulling through.
ReplyDeleteOur prayers have shown just how much the Van Vleck staff and community cares for her recovery. I am going to post flyers at Hastings and I will most certainly be at the high school to pick up those delicious dinner plates.
